Privacy

This site runs the Venture Lab vote and takes pitches. Here is everything it keeps.

What we store

• Your email, when you vote, so your picks count and we can tell you if a product launches. It is added to our email list on Kit (our email provider), and you can unsubscribe from any email.
• Your picks: which two products you were shown, which you picked, and the day.
• One cookie (p1_v), a signed random id that keeps you signed in to the vote. No tracking or advertising cookies.
• A scrambled form of your IP address, used only to cap how often one connection can vote or pitch. It is mixed with a secret that changes every day, so it can't be turned back into your address or linked across days. Your IP address itself is never stored.
• One visit a day: the day and the page, with no browser or device details.
• Pitches you send, with your email, so we can reach you about them.
• Reservations: Stripe handles the payment. We receive the product you reserved, the amount and your email so we can refund or deliver. We never see your card.

No analytics, no ads, no third-party scripts or fonts.

Who sees it

The lab, Cloudflare (which hosts the site and database), Kit (your email, for updates) and Stripe (payments). We don't sell or share your data with anyone else. Vote results we publish are counts, never names or emails.

Deleting your data

Email us and we'll delete your email, picks and pitches.
